Should we be teaching how to use One Note with all students?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;See the Nokia Mobile Learning Institute.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;"Change is...Coming" - Elliott&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;These students are the mobile generation, not the digital generation.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Devices and Networks have rapidly changed! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For 1:1 Computers, Let's Learn from Failures&lt;br /&gt;1.  No edcuational software was provided&lt;br /&gt;2.  No professional development...how to integrate into curriculum&lt;br /&gt;3.  Hardware was not sustainable.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Advocate the use of mobile computers/cell phones....no networking and hardward upkeep and issues.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Student Learning Environments&lt;br /&gt;DyKnow&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Teachers Instructional Environments&lt;br /&gt;Blackboard, GoKnow, Epsilen&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;An environment is needed in which to work effectively, just like other occupations use for their work...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Schools outsource networks.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;BlueTooth and Redfly can connect mobile computers to a computer screen. We have to measure the PD that we are doing.&lt;br /&gt;2.  We need to differentiate:  Not everyone will learn well online.&lt;br /&gt;3.  Learning, Implementation, and Reflection (How it changed the way they teach?)&lt;br /&gt;4.  Teacher Learning Cooperatives&lt;br /&gt;5.  Online courses collect data much more quickly.&lt;br /&gt;6.  Get teachers to teach the PD via technology.&lt;br /&gt;7.  ONline teachers tend to know students better when teachers use online environment (research-based)&lt;br /&gt;8. As Shawn Wooden stated, Administrative Dean at Brownsburg West Middle School, "It's like co-teaching."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;What does an effective blended room look like?&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sheryl Abshire - 1.  Tons of student engagement; 2.  Student voice is clearer for the learners that are quiet; 3. See the work of the World Future Society - Rank Top 10 Bfeakthroughs (Excellent ideas for project-based learning and rigor) - one of these is virtual learning.&lt;br /&gt;2.  Digital curriculum banks to reach students and teach online (Canada / Mexico).&lt;br /&gt;3.  15 million students in Turkey are taking online classes.&lt;br /&gt;4.  How can we use online learning to add AP and dual credit?&lt;br /&gt;5.  China is attempting to reach 1 million more students via online and accessing the best content for curriculum from around the world...they are accessing English courses, US History, ELL courses from anywhere...&lt;br /&gt;6.  Singapore is using Second Life to form communities with teachers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Can we make Gold Standard Online Courses that are Open and Available to students in any state?&lt;br /&gt;34 states have virtual schools.&lt;br /&gt;Virtual schools can bridge those gaps in curricular areas where teachers are not highly-qualified.&lt;br /&gt;Virtual Virgina has AP coursework&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Could our students who travel to China take virtual courses back in the US?  Can we make a partnership with Indiana Online Academy?  Another state?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Grants are available for cooperation for districts to build online courses:  Federal stimulus funding for the sustaining and scale up.  Ties to innovation piece for the "Race to the Top"  Funding.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Omaha Public Schools uses online courses for credit recovery.  They have a model:  "Monterrey"???
